Taylor

Taylor Swift has become a uncommon pop sensation: A star who strayed completely from traditional music into pop culture and became an iconic pop star that is set to be around forever, and will conquer all of the world. Swift removed herself from the country genre like a second skin and showed she had the finest pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only musician/singer to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it on the road. These skills were evident on her first hits, particularly the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and in the process finding the mass market. Fearless went on to become a global hit, not only in North America (where it earned six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift's second album, Speak Now, released just two years after the first one, consolidated this momentum. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. In the three subsequent albums (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 and Reputation 2017, her success only grew. It was a clear indication that she was in a new pop world where she fit in. While she reduced her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was leading the way in pop music.
