Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as a public speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which provides commentary and videos on the representation of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian as well as an American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency - a not-for profit educational site that explores female representations in popular stories of culture - was created and is directed by Sarkeesian. Committed to destroying the stereotypes of women that exist in pop media, she is also working on issues related the harassing women targeted by the media and other classes of people online. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in the fields of social thought and political science from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public presenter. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Fest and United Nations Broadband Working Group. When she was a student at the university she became concerned about issues related to gender identity and women's rights in the early stages. An ambitious woman who wanted to create a web series that examined the gender representation of video games was targeted in an online campaign. It was not enough to deter her. In fact, it increased her importance to being a feminist and a media critic. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards to recognize her notable contributions to the field of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for several years and founded Feminist Frequency. This non-profit educational organization studies women's roles in pop culture narratives.
